Steven’s Obituary
Steven L. Beal, age 67 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 at his residence.
Steve was born January 30th, 1958 to Donald Henry and Bonnie Jean (Kerr) Beal in Albia, IA.
Steve was formerly married to Vicki Harrison Gibby for 25 years with whom he raised his family. Steve was a dedicated and respected home builder in the Ellijay, GA area for many years.
Steve was known to be a man of integrity, tireless work ethic, and quiet strength. He believed in building his own way with grit and determination. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, always referring to them as his greatest legacy. Steve was a born-again Christian whose soul was saved by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which carried him through life’s trials.
Some of his fondest memories were simple- sitting around the kitchen table with his family, laughing, sharing stories, and reminiscing on days gone by. Although he is no longer at the table, his steadfast faith, love of family, and lessons he taught are all instilled in his children and will live on with them.
Steve is survived by two children, Meghan Saralise (Justin) Glaze of Trion, GA, and Crea Catherine (Cody) Rose of Centralia, IL; Eight grandchildren, Ashtyn and Olivia Self, Ayden, Grayce, Lukas, and Gabriel Rose of Centralia, IL, and Lorelai and Harrison Glaze of Trion, GA. Steve is also survived by six siblings John Beal, Thomas Beal, Carolyn Ruhl, Ronald Beal, Donna Ragen, and Sandra McReynolds.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Donald Henry and Bonnie Jean Beal, and a sister Linda Dempster.
A private graveside service will take place in Steve’s hometown of Albia, IA, on Friday, February 28th, 2025, at Selection Cemetery with family members Joe Gibby and Justin Glaze officiating, as well as a Memorial Service for friends and family in Ellijay, GA at a later date.
If lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Steve’s honor to the Isaiah House located in Ellijay, GA.
