Rockport, TX – Erin Kathleen Gorman-Dineen, 62, of Rockport TX, formerly of Farmersville, IL, passed away November 24, 2020 at her residence. Erin was born on August 11, 1958 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of Michael Gorman and Kathleen (Oller) Cooley.
She graduated from Lincolnwood High School in 1976. She had one daughter, Brenna Kylene and she preceded her in death on January 12, 2003. She married Dwayne Dineen on June 1, 2013 in Springfield and he survives.
Erin attended Lincoln Land Community College and Richland Community College where she received her Associate in Science – Accounting in 1989. She was employed as a coal miner at Crown II Mine in Virden, Illinois AFL-CIO as a Field Representative and retired from AFSCME in 2013 after 20 years of service where she was a devoted and passionate advocate for union members.
She was of Catholic faith and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. In the past, Erin was a very active member of the Springfield Ski Club and the Springfield Ski and Boat Club and volunteered for the Farmersville Ambulance Squad.
In addition to her husband, Erin is survived by siblings, Lisa Barry of Farmersville, Todd Gorman of Litchfield, Kelly Gorman of Mattoon, Mickey Gorman of Hillsboro, John (Selena) Gorman of Waggoner, Robert (Heather) Gorman of Farmersville and Ryan (Karen) Gorman of Girard. Step siblings Robert (Laurie) Cooley of Decatur, Kevin Cooley of Mattoon, Matt (Lisa) Everett of Loxahatchee, FL, Marty (companion Krista of Butler and Mike (Lora) Everett of Litchfield. Stepmother Linda (Small) Gorman of Litchfield. Stepchildren Jeremy Dineen, Nicole Dineen, and Josh (Melanie) Dineen. She is also survived by two aunts, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and step grandchildren.
Erin was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, grandparents, uncles Paul, Marty, and Robert Gorman and an aunt Mary Alice Gorman.
Erin loved spending time with her family, loved music and singing, especially karaoke, dancing, boating, fishing, mushroom hunting, scuba diving and traveling. Her most recent passion was making wreaths. She created an online store, Erin’s Hobby House, where she would go live to teach others how to make their own creations. She also enjoyed going to The Bead Studio and spending time with others who shared a passion for crafting like she did.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Farmersville-Waggoner Ambulance Service.
Visitation will be held Friday December 4th from 4-7pm at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond.
Graveside services will be held in St. Martins Cemetery in Farmersville at Noon on Saturday December 5th and also can be viewed on the Hough Funeral Homes and Cremation facebook page.
IDPH guild-lines will be followed, those who plan on attending are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
