Obituary
Lola J. Speeks, age 77, of Roodhouse passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her residence. She was born August, 30, 1944 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles and Filipina Feleccia Davis. She married John R. “Jack” Speeks Sr. on April 22, 1960 in Springfield and he preceded her in death March 18, 2014.


She is survived by two sons, John Speeks Jr. of Springfield, Steve (Kim) Speeks of Roodhouse, a daughter, Debbie (Mike) Darringer of Roodhouse, three grandchildren, Feleccia (James) Sullivan of White Hall, Brittany (Troy) Greene and Chelsea Speeks both of Jacksonville, four great grandchildren, Hailey Wilson, Brycen Wear, Nyla Bradshaw, and Rilynn Thompson, a sister, Maria Davis of Springfield, nine step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Glen Davis.

Lola worked at Meehan’s in Roodhouse for 38 years. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and her favorite player was Yadi. She enjoyed playing slot machines. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Private memorial services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials may be made to Roodhouse Police Department Kids Fishing Tournament. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse is assisting the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
