April 28, 1936 – December 27, 2023
Robert “Bob” Trueblood, 87, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the funeral home.

Robert was born on April 28, 1936 in Douglas County, IL, the son of James and Pauline (Kritz) Trueblood. He married Betty Culp on March 13, 1955 at the First Christian Church in Oakland, IL.
Robert was a teacher at Teutopolis High School for 35 years, through which he impacted many future carpenters and craftsmen. Robert was also a skilled carpenter himself, building and renovating many places in the community. He was an avid hunter and fishermen and enjoyed sharing this passion with his family. Robert and his family also camped all across the country. After retirement, Robert and Betty would travel down to Florida for the winters. One trait Robert was always known for was the pride he took in his practical jokes.
Robert is survived by his wife, Betty Trueblood of Effingham; sons, Terry (Ruth Ann) Trueblood of Effingham; Kevin (Pam) Trueblood of Mahomet, and Kerry (Ashley) Trueblood of Petersburg, IL; grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Trueblood, Jenny Trueblood, J.R. (Daniel) Trueblood, Erica (Daniel) Schirding, Clayton Trueblood, and Daxton Trueblood; great-grandchildren, Harris, Macie, and Olivia; sister, Lora Kay (Lloyd) Little; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, LeAnn Marie Trueblood;
